I get out of bed for work in the morning feeling proud to be at a company that helps people achieve their financial goals. I love the challenge of building new products! The products in our pipeline will give our clients some really awesome tools. As new technologies emerge, we continue to learn and build more effective products. Laurel Road created a 24/7 digital extension of the top-tier service that customers have come to expect from their local KeyBank branch. We are maintaining the highest standard for customer service while changing the way banks do business. Laurel Road is making a positive impact in our community and I am excited to be a part of the team! Outside of work, I love hiking at Torrey Pines. We are lucky in San Diego to have amazing State Parks and I enjoy spending time in nature. Coronado has a great boardwalk with views of the beach and the Hotel del Coronado. In winter, the hotel opens an ice-skating rink. It’s a unique experience to skate outside in December only a few feet from the Pacific Ocean. I love the nachos at Café Gratitude in Little Italy! So delicious and bonus points for being plant-based.

I get out of bed in the morning with the motivation to become better than yesterday. The products we build at Laurel Road have a direct effect on our user’s lives. Being able to be a part of an industry that has such an influence on their clients and the economy is very rewarding. I’m proud to have helped build successful applications from the ground up with the most talented teams. That’s not something everyone can say. Outside of work I enjoy hanging out with my dog, playing basketball and trading stock options. As a NYC office member born in Oregon and living on the west coast for most of my life, nothing beats family and the feeling of home, sweet home. However, the energy that the east coast (specifically NYC) breeds gives me life and constantly pushes me to improve.

What gets me out of bed in the AM is Knowing that I am making a difference and progressing towards a worthy ideal. Working at Laurel Road, I like seeing the backend of banking and learning how financial industry decisions get made. We take generally complex problems and simplify them/break them down into small easy steps so they become easy and understandable for the general public. I am proud of how far Laurel Road has come in terms of our team and our effectiveness at completing projects and our ability to work through multiple tough issues at the same time. Outside of work I love to surf, play soccer, and take my pup to the beach or on a hike. In San Diego, my favorite spot is Sunset Cliffs, or anywhere for good sushi or a nice medium rare steak and a salad.

What gets me out of bed in the morning is technology — especially when it solves real world problems. FinTech can be so empowering (if done right). Being given a customer or technical problem and a whiteboard and being told to solve it is my favorite challenge.
