Watch to learn about the Saving on A Valuable Education (SAVE) plan and eligibility for future student loan forgiveness opportunities.
SAVE is designed so that any remaining balance on your loans is forgiven between 10 and 25 years, depending on your loan type and balance. As long as you’re enrolled with the program, continue to certify your income annually, and have a balance remaining at the end of your repayment term, the remaining balance will be forgiven. That said, unexpected changes to income could impact whether you will qualify for forgiveness. We recommend scheduling a free consultation with one of our student loan specialists to determine what your terms under SAVE would be, and whether you’re projected to have a balance to forgive.
Challenges to SAVE: Multiple legal challenges made by states to the Saving on A Valuable Education (SAVE) plan could impact implementation of key aspects of the plan. For the most up-to-date developments, visit studentaid.gov.
